The Gunlock Spillway is a natural waterfall to release excessive water from the Gunlock Reservoir to release excess water during the spring run off. Since this reservoir is in a desert area, there can be several years with no run off. Leaving this spillway bone dry. When the spillway is flowing it's quite the occasion and attracts many sight-seers, hikers and cliff divers to the area.
