After I finished painting this piece and hung it on my wall, guests began to comment how alarmed they were when they saw the subtle image of the woman meditating in the center. I painted her to be subtle in nature and cosmically intertwined with the rest of the imagery… but I still clearly saw her throughout the completion of this piece. I had no idea that to others, it would be so subtle I would have to point out her presence most of the time. Upon realizing this, the accidental optical illusion became the heart and soul of this piece. It exudes what Inspiration is to me: subtle yet powerful. intentional and unintentional all at once.
Original: 3’x4’ acrylic and colored pencil on canvas.
