Born in Finland, Anja Maki is a formally trained artist. She has been painting since the age of 11. Art helped Anja through some difficult and magnificent times. She preferred to paint her subject matter on location, so the paintings you see are as if you're staring right through Anjas eyes and at the animals and landscapes.
